1.8.5 Repairs with Uncertified Parts and Record Keeping

When repairs are carried out with uncertified spare parts, the equipment should be verified in accordance with the original product specification and thoroughly examined by a Competent Person. Otherwise this may be considered as making new equipment from second-hand components and the repairer is responsible for ensuring the equipment meets the essential health and safety requirements of the supply legislation.
