20.9.3 Maintenance
Routine preventive maintenance should be carried out according to the manufacturer’s instructions in addition to any requirements of the particular site due to the conditions of service. In general there is little that can be done in terms of maintenance to the eyebolt other than ensuring that they are cleaned, paying particular attention to threads and recesses, and free from contaminants that can cause damage and deterioration. Where eyebolts are susceptible to corrosion they should be lightly oiled or greased to protect them.
Under NO circumstances should bent eyebolts be straightened.
Any debris present in the thread or under the collar should be removed by cleaning with a wire brush.
