7.5.9 People Carrying Applications

Standard winches should not be used for people carrying applications. For such applications, the manufacturer should be consulted as certain winches are purpose designed for this work. Further additional safety requirements will be necessary, e.g. the installation of descent arrestors, and the supplier’s recommendations should be sought in this respect and strictly followed.
