8.4.6 Demountable Trolley

Combined hoist and trolley appliances are usually used in permanent applications. Similarly, plain trolleys are more commonly used in applications where they will be left in place on the beam, even if the lifting appliance is removed after use. A further design variation of the rigid trolley is available for use in temporary applications, this is known as the demountable trolley and is suitable for use where the trolley has to be frequently moved from one runway beam to another.
