13.5.10 Load support

Attention should be given to other accessories which may be required. If hydraulic jacks are to be used to sustain the load for long periods, the use of jacks with screwed rams and locking collars should be considered. Where this is not possible or where other types of jack are used, suitable packing, axle stands, trestles or other means of positive support should be considered. Loads should not be supported by jacks alone and under no circumstances should any attempt be made to work on items supported by jacks.
