15.5.5 Finish

Wire rope is available in self colour (bright) or galvanised finish. The selection of the finish will to some extent depend on the application. In most circumstances, galvanised wire rope will be more resistant to corrosion and in this respect offer a longer service life. Although in most cases the selection will be a matter of personal choice, the supplier’s advice should be sought where any doubt exists.
