15.4.3 Rope Construction

The construction of the rope from which the sling is made is within reason unimportant provided that the rope has adequate flexibility and an adequate minimum breaking load (from which the SWL of the sling is calculated). The rope should be ordinary lay and may be six or eight strand having a fibre or a wire core.
