27.9.1 Marking

The following information should be permanently and legibly marked on a suitable part of the vacuum lifter unless the vacuum lifter is a permanently installed component of a larger lifting appliance in which case the appliance itself may be so marked:

  1. Identification mark. (If the manufacturer has not provided a unique serial number then it is the responsibility of the user to add the identification mark to identify the equipment with the inspection and examination reports).

  2. SWL.

  3. Name and Address of the manufacturer and where applicable, an authorized representative.

  4. Year of manufacture.

  5. Serial Number

  6. Designation of the equipment

  7. Self weight of the unloaded vacuum lifter when it exceeds 5% of the WLL or 50 kg, whichever is the less.

  8. On self priming vacuum lifters, the minimum load.

  9. On turbine vacuum lifters where the holding time in the event of power failure is less than 5 minutes, the following shall be marked in the local language.

    1. For loads less than 20 kg “Warning – the top of the lLoad must not be lifted above 1,8 m”

    2. For loads less than 35 kg “Warning – the top of the load must not be lifted above 1,2 m”
