24.10.3 Maintenance

The degree of maintenance required will vary dependent on the type and design of the barrel lifter. Simple mechanical mechanisms will have linkages which need to be checked for wear, security of link pins, distortion of components, etc. For lifters fitted with gripping pads or bands, these may become contaminated or worn and are usually replaceable. Specific maintenance instructions issued by the manufacturer should be followed.
