22.9.3 Maintenance

Plate clamps have working parts which can become inoperative if not maintained, therefore at appropriate intervals, plate clamps should be thoroughly cleaned and any moving parts lubricated, unless the manufacturer’s instructions indicate otherwise. Particular care should however be taken with clamps having smooth jaws lined with friction material as lubricant on the jaws may be dangerous. Always ask the manufacturer for advice in such circumstances.
