1.A6.2 SCOPE

This appendix is concerned with the selection of suitable lifting appliances to enable loads to be raised and lowered and, where applicable, moved whilst raised. It outlines the general principles in making the initial selection of lifting appliances and covers general aspects of their safe use. Specific guidance is given in the detailed sections of this code. This appendix also offers some guidance on power supply systems and safety devices for power operated appliances.
