18.3.1 Three Strand Hawser Laid Rope

Three strand hawser laid rope is constructed from three strands of yarns spun from fibres. The strands are twisted together (laid) in right hand lay, this is known as a Z direction of lay. (See Figure 18.3.1-1 )
