13.5.2 Capacity

The selected jack's capacity should always exceed the maximum load it will carry. Jacks are seldom used singly but tend to be used in multiples resulting in one jack taking more than its share of the load. The selected jacks must take full account of this as in the worst case the full load may act on one jack only. (See section 13.10 SAFE USE OF JACKS)
