19.2 SCOPE

This section of the code covers shackles produced from higher tensile steels and alloy steels of types, Dee, bow and grab for general lifting purposes.

Whilst this section of the code is based on, and uses the terminology of, British, European and international standards, the general recommendations may also be applied to shackles which comply to the latest edition of US Federal Specification RR-C-271.
