7.4.5 Spur Gear Wall Winch

Spur gear wall winches are used in a similar way to worm gear winches and are available in the same range of capacities. This type of winch is fitted with a self sustaining brake with ratchet and pawl mechanism. Operation may be available from the front or side of the unit, dependent on the arrangement of the spur gear assembly. Rope drum storage capacities vary between 20 metres and 30 metres.
