1.A7.2 SCOPE

This appendix is concerned with those general matters which need to be taken into account when planning a lifting operation. The recommendations however are not exhaustive but are intended to draw attention to the matters which need to be taken into account when assessing and planning a lifting operation. Although primarily concerned with the items of lifting equipment detailed in the various sections of this code, the principles and recommendations given here may be applied to any operation where a load is to be lifted, lowered or suspended.
